Formed in 1987 by Peter G. Litwin (1987-current), Brad Jones (1987), Steve Corliss (1987) and later Rob Skinner (1987-current), David R. Brooks (1988-current) and Jeff Lorien (1992-94), Coffin Break played, recorded and toured until 1994. The band reformed in 2007 and added guitarist Todd Ohashi in 2019. Currently playing sporadic shows in the Pacific Northwest.

Drawing their inspiration from metal and punk, the band issued their first two albums, Psychosis and Rupture, in 1989. featuring David Brooks on drums, Peter Litwin on guitar and vocals, and Rob Skinner on bass and vocals. The albums did well enough to earn the band a deal with Epitaph, leading to two releases Crawl in 1991 and Thirteen ( Jeff Lorien -RIP 2024) in 1992. Simultaneously, a singles and outtakes collection, No Sleep 'Til the Stardust Motel, was issued by their former label.
